IBI Kesatuan held the BIMARU (New Student Orientation) event for the 2022/2023 Academic Year with the theme “LASKAR BARU”: Creating IBIK Students with Ethical, Active, Responsive, and Excellent Character, which took place on Saturday (27/8) and was attended by 667 participants who are new students of IBI Kesatuan.

This year’s BIMARU was very different, as it was held offline after a three-year hiatus. This made the new students very enthusiastic because they could finally meet and interact with new friends, get to know the IBI Kesatuan academic community, and learn about the facilities at IBI Kesatuan firsthand.
This enthusiasm is also felt by Rio Muhamad Fauzy from the S1 Information Systems program, who serves as the chairperson of the BIMARU IBI Kesatuan 2022 organizing committee. Rio stated that the BIMARU event has obtained permission from the COVID-19 Task Force and the Bogor City Police Department. Of course, the event is conducted with strict procedures, including mandatory mask usage and proof of at least two vaccine doses.

Rio said that BIMARU activities were held for 4 days and a 2-day social gathering (makrab). During BIMARU, new students were introduced to the entire IBI Kesatuan academic community, Student Activity Units (UKM), and facilities at IBI Kesatuan.
Meanwhile, the social gathering itself is the culmination of the BIMARU activities carried out by all new students, with the hope of strengthening the sense of brotherhood among students.

Dr. Nusa Muktiadji, Ir., MM, Vice Rector 3 for Student Affairs at IBI Kesatuan, advised all new students to get to know their lecturers and seniors. For him, communication is one of the most important things in developing a person’s character.
He also hopes that all students will be able to organize themselves well and develop the character trait of being able to work in a team, as organizing can help educate students’ soft skills. Soft skills are very necessary when students graduate and face the world of work/business in the future.
