OVERVIEW
The Kesatuan Foundation was established by Notarial Deed of Mr. Sie Kwan Djioe on September 26, 1953, as the Legal Entity overseeing and managing the Kesatuan Management Academy in Bogor. In 1974, it developed into the Kesatuan Management Academy (AMK) with two study programs: the Diploma-3 (D3) in Financial Management and Banking, and the Diploma-3 (D3) in Marketing Management.
In 1996, the Kesatuan Foundation established the Kesatuan School of Economics (STIE Kesatuan) with two undergraduate programs (Bachelor’s degrees) and one Diploma-3 program, namely Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Accounting, and Diploma-3 in Accounting, under Establishment Decree Number 42/D/O/1996, dated July 17, 1996.
In 2009, AMK was merged under STIE Kesatuan. Later, in 2019, STIE Kesatuan was transformed into the Kesatuan Institute of Business and Informatics (IBI Kesatuan).
With its vision of becoming a nationally recognized and excellent institution in the fields of business, informatics, and tourism, aligned with the rapid advancements in science and technology, while prioritizing morals and ethics, IBI Kesatuan pursues the following missions:
- – Organizing high-quality education and teaching processes based on national and international quality standards.
- – Conducting research and intellectual product studies with economic value (intellectual economic value products) to meet the needs of the nation and the world.
- – Providing services and community engagement activities to address national and international issues in business, informatics, and tourism.
Through the three pillars of higher education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), IBI Kesatuan must become a well-recognized higher education institution with a good reputation. This institution is named the Kesatuan Institute of Business and Informatics (IBI Kesatuan). The name “Kesatuan” (Unity) was chosen to honor the determination of the youth who united to fight for the nation’s independence. IBI Kesatuan is expected to contribute to the nation by producing intellectual individuals with insight and faith in accordance with the values of Pancasila, inheriting the spirit of the youth’s struggle.
Considering the availability of higher education institutions in Bogor area, the growing number of high schools, and the absence of higher education institutions specializing in economics, the Kesatuan Institute of Business and Informatics (IBI Kesatuan) was established based on these considerations.
The Kesatuan Institute of Business and Informatics (IBI Kesatuan) consistently strives to produce high-quality graduates. To achieve this, the optimal use of intellectual resources within the academic community of IBI Kesatuan requires a guarantee of good organizational governance and management, leading to quality-based policies encompassing education, research, and community service.
In the future, the Kesatuan Institute of Business and Informatics (IBI Kesatuan) aims to become a higher education institution capable of producing graduates with strong moral character and intellectual capabilities through the development of character education.
