On May 20, 2023, Prof. Dr. Bambang Pamungkas, Ak,. MBA, CA, CPA, CPA (Aust), ASEAN CPA, CIMBA, CSFA, CFrA, CGAE, was inaugurated as the new Rector of IBI Kesatuan for the 2023-2027 term, replacing the previous Rector, Prof. Dr. H. Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara, SE., MM., Ak, CA., CPA, CSFA. Prof. Dr. Bambang Pamungkas is the third Rector to hold this position since IBI Kesatuan was officially established. As an educator, Prof. Dr. Bambang Pamungkas is a figure with expertise in accounting and finance, backed by extensive experience. He has held several high-ranking positions in the government, including at the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) of the Ministry of Finance, the Directorate General of Regional Financial Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and as Chief Auditor (Echelon 1) of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). As the new Rector of IBI Kesatuan, Prof. Bambang Pamungkas is expected to lead IBI Kesatuan to become a higher education institution that makes an even greater contribution in the future, in line with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

Currently, IBI Kesatuan has two faculties with nine undergraduate (S1) and applied undergraduate (STr) study programs and one master’s (S2) study program in accounting with an Excellent accreditation rating. IBI Kesatuan has achieved many accomplishments, both academic and non-academic, by its lecturers and students.

Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Bambang Pamungkas, IBI Kesatuan is expected to improve its international university ranking according to Webometrics, QS Asia University Ranking (QS AUR), UniRank, and Dikti. To that end, various efforts will continue to be made, starting from increasing the number of lecturers with doctoral degrees (S3) to a minimum of 30%, increasing the number of teaching staff with master’s degrees (S2), conducting research and community service activities, international cooperation in the Tri Dharma, international lecturer and student exchanges, improving information system-based facilities and infrastructure, and so on.

In addition to being attended by the academic community of IBI Kesatuan Bogor, the inauguration of the new rector was also attended by the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya.

The Bogor City Government and IBIK Kesatuan have had a cooperation model since 2017, which includes assistance for MSMEs, a selection team for officials, student internships, and so on. I request that special attention be given to IBI Kesatuan, as Bogor’s tourism sector will continue to be a key focus in the future. The tourism program here must truly meet market demands, including its computer science program adapting to the digital age, cashless transactions, and so on,” stated Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto.

“Of course, this must be part of Bogor City’s planning, both in terms of infrastructure and human resources (HR),” added Bima Arya, Mayor of Bogor.

May these aspirations be achieved under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Bambang Pamungkas Ak., MBA, CA, CPA, CPA (Aust), ASEAN CPA, CIMBA, CSFA, CFrA, CGAE, and may IBI Kesatuan become a university that is the pride of the people of Bogor at the national and international levels.
