On Friday, May 5, 2023, IBI Kesatuan held an “International Guest Lecturer” event in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Mara. The speakers were Prof. Dr. Jamaliah Said, Director of the Accounting Research Institute (ARI), and Firdaus Amyar, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., Ak., CA., LCCC., CSFA., CGAE. from IBI Kesatuan. The main focus of this International Guest Lecturer event was on research methodology, particularly in accounting.

Prof. Dr. Jamaliah Said presented material on research methodology and topics related to accounting. In this context, Prof. Dr. Jamaliah Said emphasized the importance of understanding emerging issues and contextual understanding before starting a research project

Firdaus Amyar, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., Ak., CA., LCCC., CSFA., CGAE. also discussed research on shifts in accounting practices. He explained the types of shifts and the causes of shifts in accounting practices. He also explained the challenges, opportunities, and necessity of collaboration in current accounting practices for the creation of sustainability reports.

To conclude the presentation session, souvenirs were exchanged as a token of gratitude and hope from each party that this cooperation will continue to flourish and that both parties can work together to develop the community and educate the nation.

Not to forget, along with the closing of this international guest lecturer event, the IBIK Bogor chapter of ARI (Accounting Research Institute) was also inaugurated. It was inaugurated directly by the Rector of IBI Kesatuan and the Director of ARI.

In the future, ARI Chapter IBIK Bogor will become a branch of ARI Malaysia and hopes to develop further and attract more graduate students, especially those who wish to study accounting.
