On Thursday (May 19), Singaperbangsa University Karawang held a public lecture and Halal Bihalal gathering with the theme “Higher Education E-Governance Management in the Digital Age.” This public lecture was held with the aim of encouraging higher education institutions to continue improving the quality of education through good university governance in line with expected objectives and applicable regulations.

The event began at 8:00 a.m. and was held in a hybrid format in the Singaperbangsa Karawang University Hall and via Zoom Meeting, with Prof. Dr. H. Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara, SE., MM., Ak., CPA., CA., CSFA., ASEAN CPA as the guest speaker. As Rector of IBI Kesatuan Bogor, and Isnaeni Achdiat, SE., M.Ak., CA., CIA., ASEAN CPA. As Founder of Media AKUTAHU. Participants consisted of offline and online participants, who came from lecturers at Singaperbangsa Karawang University, students, and the general public.

In his first presentation, Prof. Moermahadi explained the development of Information Systems and work processes for modern, transparent, and accountable university governance, as well as the involvement of the academic community, educational staff, and the public (interaction) in the use of information systems to improve academic quality and services.

Prof. Moermahadi also conveyed Presidential Instruction No. 3 of 2003 concerning the National Strategy Policy for E-Government Development. The objective of E-Government itself is an effort to develop electronic-based governance in order to improve the quality of public services effectively and efficiently

In the second presentation, Mr. Isnaeni Achdiat explained the strategy of implementing blockchain for decentralizing information in higher education institutions in relation to the development of blockchain as a cross-sector technology, the potential and need for blockchain implementation in the education sector, and the socio-technological characteristics of blockchain and its use for improving academic quality and services.

The event concluded with a question and answer session led by the moderator. Questions came from various groups, particularly related to the governance of E-Governance itself. Hopefully, by implementing Good University Governance, higher education institutions will be able to compete and maintain their existence.
