On Saturday, July 23, IBI Kesatuan held the Grand Launching of the Master of Accounting Program at the Kesatuan Business Institute (Maksi – IBI Kesatuan) and a seminar with the theme “The Role of Public Sector Accounting in Comprehensive and Sustainability Reporting.” The event was held to inaugurate the opening of the Master of Accounting Study Program.
The Grand Launching of Maksi – IBI Kesatuan was held in a hybrid format at the IBI Kesatuan Campus, Jl. Ranggagading No. 1, New Building, 6th Floor, Auditorium, and on YouTube. The event was attended by 97 invited guests, including professors, local government officials from the cities and regencies of Bogor, Cianjur, and Sukabumi, representatives from universities in the Bogor area, stakeholders, representatives from schools in the cities and regencies of Bogor, IBI Kesatuan alumni, and prospective Master of Accounting students.
The event began with a speech from Prof. Dr. H. Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara, SE., MM., Ak., CA., CPA., CSFA. as the Rector of IBI Kesatuan. In his speech, he stated that the IBI Kesatuan Master of Accounting program implements a comprehensive curriculum in terms of theory and practice, which will be taught by lecturers who have practical experience in the subjects they teach.

“We hope that the IBI Kesatuan Master of Accounting program will produce graduates who are competent in the field of public sector accounting so that public sector financial management becomes more transparent and accountable, as well as competent in the field of financial accounting and capital markets to support the acceleration of Indonesia’s economic growth,” he said.
Gina Indriani, S.Si., M.T., Coordinator of Education and Teaching Staff at LLDIKTI Region IV, explained in her speech that the interaction between accountants and technology can currently be seen in the increasing use of robotics and data analytics, which have taken over the basic tasks previously performed by accountants. This revolution has created challenges that accountants need to be aware of.

Drs. H. Dedie A. Rachim, MA., Deputy Mayor of Bogor, also gave a speech. With the launch of this Master of Accounting Program, he hopes that there will be many participants from various agencies, especially vertical agencies in the city of Bogor, local governments around Bogor, and state-owned enterprises/regional-owned enterprises, which he believes will be among the beneficiaries of the Master of Accounting Program at IBI Kesatuan.

The event continued with the reading of the Decree (SK) on the Establishment and Operational Permit of the Master of Accounting Study Program at the Kesatuan Institute of Business and Informatics by the Coordinator of Education and Education Personnel of LLDIKTI Region IV West Java and Banten, followed by the handover of the Decree of Establishment and Operational Permit for the Master of Accounting Study Program, as well as the pinning of pins on Master of Accounting students by the Rector of IBI Kesatuan.

The event continued with an Accounting Seminar with material presented by Prof. Mardiasmo, MBA., Ph.D., CFrA., QIA., Ak., CA., FCMA., ASEAN CPA., CPA (Aust.)., CSFA. as Chairman of the National Board of the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI), Chairman of the Taxation Supervisory Committee, Chairman of the National Governance Policy Committee, and speaker at this Accounting Seminar.
In his presentation, he explained that accounting science and the profession are also developing quite rapidly and dynamically. Therefore, it is time for accountants, professionals, professors, lecturers, and postgraduate students to be able to see the next step for the accountancy profession. How can we implement integrated, collaborative, and comprehensive reporting?

The IBI Kesatuan Master of Accounting Program is the first master of accounting program in Bogor City with two concentration options, namely Public Sector Accounting and Financial Accounting and Capital Markets.
